The Malays or Bumiputras, Chinese, Indians and a diverse group of indigenous people in Sabah and Sarawak live together in harmony. While Islam is the official religion in Malaysia, Buddhism. Hinduism and Christianity are practiced freely. Bahasa Malaysia is our national language although Mandarin and Cantonese, Tamil and English are also widely spoken. As such conversing with a Malaysian poses no difficulties.
