About Ipoh International School (formerly the Tenby School)

The Tenby Educare Schools Group (TESG) was set up in 2004 to provide high-quality education services. It is managed by a not-for-profit SiWu Education Trust, established by Dato’ Lim Keng Kay (Dato’ KK Lim), in loving memory of the late Lim Si Wu, the youngest son of Dato’ KK and his wife, Datin Stella. In the beginning, the schools under the group developed independently within its own community. In Ipoh, it was an expatriate kindergarten that became an international school and later started a private school within the school offering the Malaysian curriculum. In Penang, it developed as a local kindergarten and a private school offering the Malaysian curriculum, which later established an International School. The latest additions to the group are the schools in Setia Eco Park, Setia Alam – one where both local and international curricula are offered from inception.

Products & Services

We are proud to announce that Ipoh International School, the pioneering school of the group is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). We now join the ranks of being one of only five schools in Malaysia with such status. In our continuous strife to provide a holistic approach to education aimed at grooming the young to be learned, responsible, compassionate and critical thinkers, we subscribe to the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), the English National Curriculum leading to Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) endorsed assessments, and the local Malaysian curriculum. We have also been granted by CIE to conduct the Cambridge International Diploma for Teachers and Trainers (CIDTT) course to meet our own requirements of having trained teachers in all TESG schools. Yearly courses are conducted to ensure that the teaching staff is fully equipped with pedagogical skills for effective teaching in class.
