Mr. Sammons had a vision of setting up a robotics college in Malaysia when robotics education was still new in Malaysia almost a decade ago and his vision was realized as FRIS college. FRIS since then has been in the forefront of robotics education in Malaysia.
First Robotics Industrial Science (M) Sdn Bhd (FRIS) is the pioneer robotics engineering training centre in Malaysia, registered with the Ministry of Education and approved by MQA. It was established in 1993 by the late Mr Clare A. Sammons, a Canadian who came to Malaysia with an extensive engineering background.
The central focus of the Institute – Robotics & Mechatronics Engineering encompasses electronics, mechanical and computer engineering. Robotics and automation engineering is experiencing rapid growth and is a branch of engineering with excellent opportunities for employment.
Products & Services
Throughout this program, students will have an opportunity to explore the field of Electronics, Mechanical, Computer and Robotics Engineering. This is a modern approach used to design products and processes based on computer controlled mechanical and electronics systems. During the entire program students will take more than 30 comprehensive subjects and 1728 contact hours in 2 1/4 years before completing a Diploma. After that, students have options to complete a tertiary education in Britain, Australia , New Zealand or locally.
